Hello.
Good day.
Noted your history. I realize that it can be very distressing. There are number of reasons for this itch.
1. Fungal infection
2. Pin Worm infestation: rare in Australia unless you have travelled to tropical countries recently.
3. Uncontrolled diabetes ( but your diabetes is well controlled, so this is unlikely)
4. Eczema
Since you have used several creams prescribed by GP, it is better to consult a dermatologist. Visual inspection of the area is required. You may also require a course of anti worm treatment if nothing else is seen on examination.
Any of your family members affected ? Does your partner think that area is red or swollen? Any dry skin in that area?
I would appreciate a reply

Hi,
Thank you for the reply. Noted the points. In that case, there is a remote possibility of localized neuropathy causing it. I have seen few patients with itch and pain in localized areas due to focal neuropathies.
Typically, diabetic neuropathy affects feet, however, there is an entity called as mono neuritis which can affect a single site or patchy sites. This is very rare, but possible.
A course of Duloxetine tablet may help. A gentle emollient cream application also may help. Another thing to try is 1% hydrocortisone cream application twice daily for few weeks.
