What Causes Itchy, Irritating Spots On Skin?
Question: My wife has skin irritations on a few spots on and around chest, back and under-arms. All those spots keep etching whole day and it's very uncomfortable for her. There are no rashes or red/brown patches on those spots. This has been occurring for more than a week now, and has started bothering her now.
Can you please advise about what might possibly be wrong, and suggest treatments?

there are no visible spots as such. by spots I meant - hot-spots where it's etching on her skin. Yet, I have attached a photo of the skin under her left arm. No patches as can be seen from the photo.

Possibility of Scabies

Hi.
I would like to treat her empirically for Scabies. A single whole body application of 5% permethrin cream, from neck downwards to the whole body, kept overnight for 8 hours and scrub bath on the following day, is advisable. Any other affected member in the family may also be treated in the same way.
An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily in the evening would provide her symptomatic relief from itching.
