What Causes Itchy Large Red Rash Spreading From Armpit To Bottom Of Ribs?

Question: Overnight I developed an itchy large red rash on my left side, from armpit to the bottom of the ribs. There is a much smaller red area (also itchy) on my right side (same general area). The large rash has some raised lines (like a small trail) and a bunch of red areas, with a couple of very small white spots.

You also looked at the photo, right? I am wondering how that could be - my side is not something that should contact allergens. I had a shirt on all day (winter activities). Why would it not be in places that could actually contact something. No new clothes.
