What Causes Itchy Rash On Arm?
fungal rash
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
This rash looks like a fungal infection. The anti-itch creams will treat the itch, temporarily, but will not heal up the problem. You need a strong antifungal medication like Lamisil (terbenifine) to heal up and cure this skin infection. You can buy this at the drug store. Generic brands will be cheaper and should work just as well. It may even be call "jock itch cream" but it is not just for jock it, it is for any type of fungal skin infection. Use a thin layer morning and night until it is resolved and then continue for one more week after it has resolved. Do not use the over the counter anti-itch hydrocortisone (steroid) cream as steroids can make fungal infections worse. Try not to scratch. Cool compresses may help some with the itching. Heat, friction and dry skin will make the itching worse.
I hope this is resolved soon,

And will the jock itch medicine, make it go away?
does not look like scabies
Detailed Answer:
It does not look like scabies, it looks like a fungal rash. Yes the "jock itch" cream is just a broad spectrum antifungal and it should make it go away in a week to 10 days. I hope it is better soon.

Detailed Answer:
We all have yeast (fungus) organisms on our skin all the time. There is a natural balance between yeast and bacteria on our skin at all times. Sometimes due to an injury or insect bite or some other trigger one or the other takes over and we end up with a yeast or a bacterial infection. Yeast infections tend to be very itchy and irritating while bacterial infections tend to be red swollen and painful. Sometimes over washing can even set you up for an infection by removing the natural yeast and bacteria on the skin. It is really hard to say in any particular case what caused it. Once it is healed up just watch for anything like this again and start using the antifungal cream as soon as possible so that you get it treated early before it gets so severe.
I hope you get relief soon
