What Causes Itchy Rashes On Lower Abdomen During Pregnancy?

I suggest a possibility of Lichen Planus
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query and I have noted down your complaints.
I have also reviewed the Images that you previously shared with Dr. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX in which these skin lesions were diagnosed as pruritic urticaria papules and plaques of pregnancy/ PUPPP.
This is certainly not PUPPP. I will like to revise the diagnosis to Lichen Planus.
Lichen Planus is an extremely itchy skin condition and usually presents with itchy, violaceous/ purple colored, shiny papules.
The areas usually affected with Lichen planus are flanks of abdomen, wrists, lower legs/ shins etc.
PUPPP, on the other hand is uncommon so early in pregnancy and it usually happens late in pregnancy (3 rd trimester). Lesions of PUPPP are different from what I can see in these Images.
-Do you have these rashes elsewhere on your body?
I can see on my dashboard that I had answered one of your previous query regarding itchy rashes on legs. I had requested for Images at that time but I never got them and the query got closed.
I guess the rashes on your legs are also most likely due to Lichen planus.
I suggest you to use a topical potent steroid e.g clobetasol propionate 0.05% cream, twice daily, on the affected area.
Topical steroids are absolutely safe in pregnancy.
An Oral antihistamine e.g Hydroxyzine 25 mg twice daily or thrice daily is safe in pregnancy.
This will provide you symptomatic relief in pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thank you for your clarification and additional information. It is helpful.
This looks very much like Lichen Planus. I can't deny the classic look of it and I will still like to keep the same clinical diagnosis.
Calamine won't provide much relief as you must have already noticed.
These rashes would only respond to topical steroid, as I mentioned in my previous reply.

Dear User, Images on internet depict various severity of a particular skin condition and for a it is not easy to relate these images to the actual skin condition that one has.

Take care
