What Causes Itchy Skin After Taking Meloxicam?
Question: I have experienced severe itching followed by burning areas and I am wondering if this is a side effect of melodicam?
Brief Answer:
it may cause allergic reactions
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
all NSAIDs (including meloxicam) may cause allergic reactions with itching areas (and burning after scratching them). Gabapentin may also cause such effects. You'd better withdraw the NSAIDs first to see what happens. If you get better then you should try alternatives like paracetamol (acetaminophen).
If you see no improvement then you can try to stop gabapentin (consult your doctor first because you shouldn't stop it cold turkey).
I hope you find my comments helpful!
