What Causes Knot Like Lump In The Left Side Of Scrotum?
I am 60 yrs. Normal in health. I observe that of late my scrotum has become saggy & itchy (itchy especially when at home without inner wear) and I also observe a knot like small lump in the left side of the scrotum. The knot in scrotum has been noticed for the last one year and the itchy sensation also for about one year. The knot does not give pain or does not cause inconvenience. However, the itchy sensation is inconvenient. I keep my scrotum and penis clean. What could be the causes Sir. I am a loner and so I do not have sex. However I spill sperm on bed, once a week, on masturbation.

Varicoele with possible fungal infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. The knot like lump in the left side of scrotum could be a varicoele. It enlarged veins and not to be worried about for now.
2. The itchy sensation is due to increased sweating, possibly with secondary infection. Look for any skin reddening/ excoriation/ any ulceration at the area. If present, possibly fungal infection. You will need to use anti-candida creams at that location.
3. Always keep the area dry. Wipe with soft cloth to keep it dry and do wash the area immediately after masturbation. Semen can be a source of nutrition for infectious organisms.
4. For itching, you can take cetrizine or loratidine.
Hope it helps.

1) 22 yrs ago my mom died of nonhodchins lymphoma. She was 66 yrs old then.
Do varicoele is any sort of symptom of any form of cancer?
2) I always keep my scrotum & penis clean. I shall follow your advice of drying with a soft cloth after washing.
3) I do not have skin reddening or ulceration at the scrotum. But I do not understand about excoriation. Could you pl explain Sir?
Thank you for your patient listening

Not symptoms of lymphoma
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for asking again.
1. Excoriation is loss of superficial layer - here skin, due to scratching, secondary to itching. Scratching can damage skin, without causing bleeding or ulceration.
2. Itching is not generalized, so we need to think of local causes. However, keep area dry after washing. If itching persists, try a one week application of antifungal cream like anticandid cream or powders. For now, for itching you can take cetrizine or loratidine.
3. Varicoele is a vascular disorder and not related to lymphoma in any way. Not to worry.
If your testis is getting enlarged, or if you are finding any masses (large lymphnodes), then lymphoma needs to be ruled out. As you do not have these symptoms, not to worry.
Hope it helps. Any further queries, here to help again.
