What Causes Lacunar Stroke?
Question: I have been diagnosed with hypertension, cholestrol, and prediabetic. After having several tests (MRI, CT, and an EKG). the results indicated that I'd had an old lacunar stroke, which I din't perceived had happened. I'm presently waiting to see a neurologist on March 31. I'm taking these meds: meclizine, topomax, crestor, triameterene, plaquenil, and an aspirin (324 mg) per day. I've begun eating little or no salt, walking with weight training a maximum of 4xs per week, and eating a plant-based diet consisting of dark green veggies, almonds, and walnuts with lemon juice water. In addition, I've lost 10 pounds within a month. How can I prevent another stroke from happening? I have lupus as well. What questions should I ask the neurologist when I visit him on March 31, 2014. i really need your help because I will not become a stroke victim. Is there any help for me?I'm pretty active. Is surgery usually done for a small lacunar stroke in hopes of preventing bigger or more serious ones? What treatments can be done if the neurologist doesn't think surgery is necessary? My pain is localized in the right temple and the right top of my head. What does that affect? Please give me concrete answers that can help me choose a solid and total recovery plan
