I think something else is going on along with MDS. put in isolation to check for TB TODAY. Been in hospital 1 week today and getting worse. has gained 20 lbs since he has been there.
Brief Answer:
MDS has nothing to do with his lungs
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
MDS is a bone marrow disorder which affects the blood and usually causes chronic anemia. The fluid in his lungs cannot be attributed to MDS. It's irrelevant.
He needs thorough investigation for its cause including radiological tests (CT scan) and fluid examination. Depending on the results, other tests might be required.
Potential causes include malignancy, heart failure, renal damage, liver failure, infections, autoimmune conditions, thrombotic conditions, etc
