What Causes Late Periods With Negative UPT?

I have a query related to my periods.
I had my LMP on April 23rd. I have usually a 32 day cycle. I had protected intercourse on 20th April after which on 23rd april I got my periods. In may now my periods are delayed by 11 to 13 days. I did home pregnancy test two days on 31st & 1st of may which was negative and then did betahcg on 3rd May which was also negative. Last year I was detected with PCOS for which I havent yet started taking any treatment. For the past 6 7 months my cycle was around the dates ranging between 21-24. I used to have irregular periods before that. I was facing low BP problem in May and I also had lower abdomen pain mid month in May for 2 3 days. I am waiting for my periods to come. Please advise if I am pregnant or is it due to my hormonal imbalance? Can I take some ayurvedic medicine to bring my periods now? I used to have headache s two weeks ago and I am frequently urinating especially in the night.
Unlikely to be pregnancy related
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.
Since you had intercourse (protected) on 20th April, and you got your periods on 23rd april, means you did intercourse in relatively safer period.
With 30 days cycle, your periods were expected on around 23rd of May, but you have not got your periods till date.
So, i would have advised you to get Urine Pregnancy test done, but since you have done it and it is negative, it is unlikely that you are pregnant.
Urine Pregnancy test becomes strongly positive after 10 days of missing your periods. Moreover your Beta HCG test is also negative.
So, if we conclude that you had protected sex on relatively safe time and you have Urine test and Beta HCG negative even after 10 days of missing the periods, it is unlikely to be due to pregnancy.
You have history of PCOS. So, yes, that can cause irregular periods.
I would not advise you to take any ayurvedic medication.
I would advise you to get following:
1. Ultrasound Abdomen with Pelvic organs.
2. Thyroid Profile
3. Fasting Blood Sugar levels.
Once you have the reports, we can start you on treatment accordingly.
This is my best advice for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

Get USG
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Actually, monitoring of follicle size is required before we start treatment for PCOS.
So, i would advise you to get Ultrasound Abdomen done.
If thyroid and blood sugars are normal, then its good.
But you should get Ultrasound done, also it would give an idea in case you are pregnant.
So, get it done and review with me again with reports.
If you have further query please ask me.
Stay healthy.
