What Causes Left Sided Abdominal Pain And Blood In Urine?

Question: my father is 69years old and a diabetic amd bp patient since more than 15years. he is takimg januvia 100mg and glucoredforte once a day for diabetes. he takes acedip for bp once everyday. 10days ago he had reported pain on side of belly in mornong which we suspected to be gas or effect of over stressed pranaayam.he got ok,but found some mild pain again on left side of abdomen but it subsided. from past 2days he is getying some blood,pinkish urine. we went to local physician,and some tests have been prescribed . however we are worried, what next should we do or go to which dr. since he is going urine 5-6times a day would it cause blood loss.can it be some serious troble. please suggest.

Hello XXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I hope with medications your fathers blood sugar and blood pressure are well controlled.
Blood in urine at this age may be due to bladder problems like urinary bladder stone or cancer.
It can also occur less commonly with ureteric stone with pain and little amount of bleeding.
Though blood loss occurs in such cases but actual amount is difficult to ascertain.
I will suggest you to consult an urologist for proper examination, evaluation and treatment.
