What Causes Left Sided Back Pain?

Question: hi I have been having constant pain on my left side, sometimes in my left on my back. the pain is above my waist what could be causing this/

the pain is on my left front side right under my ribs, between my belly button and my side it feels like a hard egg, but a little smaller I took an ibuprofen to sleep last night and I can't get in to see my own doctor.

* Suggested to apply alternate ice pack and heating pad to get better early ,
addition of tylenol (500)mg morning and evening after meals with ibuprofen
will give more pain relief .

1. is anything elevated over the skin surface , changes of skin color, texture
2. total duration of pain
3. progress of the hard egg feeling from beginning to this moment fast/slow
4. fever if any
