In your particular case, my preference for imaging studies (just based upon your symptoms) might be an MRI of the brain and I'd also order one with gadolinium contrast which is an IV special type of XXXXXXX So long you don't have any known kidney problems then, receiving the XXXXXXX straight away shouldn't be a problem.

However, there are a few blood tests that would be good to obtain just as a quick screen for other things that could cause your symptoms. For example, I would suggest the following as a starter:

CBC with differential, Vitamin B12, folate, Vitamin D, D2, and D3 levels, Hemoglobin A1C, and a basic electrolyte panel that contains creatinine, BUN, and thyroid function studies in the way of a TSH, Free T4, and Total T4 would be very nice to round out the group.

These few blood tests would give us a fairly quick idea of any types of metabolic concerns that if corrected might solve your problem. Also, if all these tests including the MRI study were completely negative for any problems be aware that anxiety and worry causes symptoms of tingling and sometimes numbness in the head, face, fingers, and toes. However, I would not consider this as a first diagnosis until everything else has been ruled out.

Also, if you've been started on any new medication or taking something that you've never taken before such as something over the counter or something herbal, or homeopathic...keep in mind that these things can have just as many side effects as prescription drugs so those should be also looked at when discussing these sorts of symptoms.
