What Causes Left-sided Pain In Abdomen And Near Hip Below Navel?

I'm a 43yr old male. I recently went surfing for a few hours ( felt fine ) then drove a 90 min trip home from the beach. However, when I arrived home and got out of the car, I started to feel a "stich like" pain coming from the left side of my lower abdomen. The area of discomfort is about the size of a fist. ( if I open my hand and place it below my belly button facing left to my hips...the tip of my fingers is where the discomfort is felt.
If I press down, discomfort is felt. ( not unbearable, but certainly present )
I can move and walk around but if I bend down standing to put on my left shoe...there is a painful reaction from the area mentioned.
I have had this for 3 days now.
I have no sense of nausea, diarhea, vomiting or fever. My stools and urine all look normal and I have never had this problem before. I can sleep and if I lay on my back or side I am fine.
I am planning a 8 day surfing trip and I am a bit concerned because I tried lying flat down on the floor to simulate myself lying on a surfboard...and immediate discomfort appeared from the mentioned area.
I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions.
Thank you sincerely,
Soul surfer
Can be colon inflammation like diverticulitis or kidney problem
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,
when someone with your symptoms comes to my office i think about colon inflammation like diverticulosis/ diverticulitis first. I would try to confirm that by blood work (sed rate, white blood count, crp= inflammation signs). If there would be any signs of inflammation in the blood then this location can be typical for above mentioned diagnose. Then antibiotics and temporary low fibre cost is advisable.
Another possible cause would be a kidney infection, i'd rule that out by the same blood test and urine sample as well as ultrasound. If there'd be any sign of infection in urine testing other antibiotics can be prescribed.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarifications you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
