Question : Hi I have had 6 ECG's, 2 chest X-rays, bloods and a 24 hour ecg. I also suffer with anxiety. My first ecg at a&e said abnormal possible left ventricular hypertrophy. However both a&e said this was due to computer sensitivity and when they did the calculations manually and looked at chest X-rays it was a normal ecg. My 24hr ecg showed 2 sve/ve which I understand to be normal and everyone has these each day. What concerns me is as one ecg said possible left ventricular hypertrophy does this mean I should be referred for an echo to check for structural damage or have my GP ruled this out looking at ecg? Also as I have sve/ve is this dangerous if I have left ventricular hypertrophy. My 5 ecg's following the first one over the next six months all showed as normal and my 24hr ecg showed as normal except for 2 sve/ve. Thanks

Brief Answer:
No need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Printed reports on the ecg are inaccurate many a times and we hardly rely on these reports. So if physician has rule it out then I think there is no need for further investigations. You can however upload ecg for second opinion regarding hypertrophy.
Regarding ectopics, yes are very common and not a matter of worry at all even if we consider hypertrophy.
Overall, no need to worry. Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
