What Causes Leg Pain And Low BP?
Question: Hello Doctor,
My wife is 31, and she is having pain in her legs since last week. She never had any injury, and this doesn't look like fatigue as it is persistent continously. She has low BP sometimes, but diabetes is OK.
Could you please advise something? I will be able to upload her Sugar, Blood & Vitamin D test report tomorrow.
Regards,
XXXX

Thank you doctor for your reply. My wife has very low Vitamin D, 4 while it should be 20+. That coukd be the reason fir the pain. Any advice?
Brief Answer:
Low vitamin d can cause such pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Most common of such cause in either low vitamin D and calcium or it can be loe vitamin B 12. As you are saying that her vitamin D is on lower side, I would recommend you to start her in calcium and vitamin D supplementation. She will also benefit from half an hour sun exposure daily.
I would also recommend you to give her Methylcobal tablet which is B 12. It will also help her in pain.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
Thanks

Sure doctor. Typically how long does it take for the levels to be normal?
Brief Answer:
It can take up to 3 months
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Usually vitamin D can be increased easily. It is fat soluble vitamin and get deposited in liver. So it can be stored in body. Once its level is achieved, it should be stopped, As toxicity can develop. So check its level regularly.
Vitamin B 12 is water soluble and so it can not be stored by body and it needs to be replaced by regularly. It is not harmful and can be given for six months.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
