What Causes Lesions Of Red Spots On Arms And Leg?

A wound swab and treatment for lesion
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
If you have signs of infection on your leg around the lesion such as redness, increased temperature, swelling, pain and a discharge then the lesion may be infected. You Dr can swab the lesion. The lab can grow the bacteria in the lab and test to see exactly what bacteria is causing the infection. You can then have appropriate antibiotics to treat the infection. MRSA is a treatable bacterial infection and so you do not need to worry to much. MRSA is not the commonest cause of this type of infection and so it is more likely to be a more common bacteria if you do indeed have an infection.
A common cause of lesions on the leg that will not heal i.e. an ulcer is venous insufficiency. You Dr could make this diagnosis on physical and ultrasound assessment of your leg. If you do have this problem the a special bandaging technique called 4 layer bandaging can help the ulcer heal.
I hope this answers you question
Best wishes
