What Causes Less Bowel Movements In Infants After Switching Formula Feed?
Question: my daughter is 2 weeks old, when in the hospital she started out on liquid infamil, we ran out and bought the powder infamil she has only pooped once since the switch, we switched back to the liquid and she has had regular feedings and still no poop within 16 hrs, what should we do?
Brief Answer:
This is quite common in formula feeds - dont worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi...any baby on formula feeds will have some periodic changes in bowel habits. Nothing to worry about it. This is not constipation.
At this age it is common - not to pass motion even up to 7 days without any discomfort to the baby. You need not worry about that.
If the baby is active, feeding well, doesn't have vomiting and voiding urine well you need not worry.
