What Causes Light Colored Skin At The Bottom Of Scrotum?

Question: My boyfriend has patches/blotches of lighter colored skin on the bottom of his scrotum, and now they seem to be spreading. They are not raised at all, and the are no scabs or sores. He says they do itch. Also he sometimes complains of testicle pain.. Is this an STD or something treatable?
Brief Answer:
fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Probably he is suffering from a fungal infection.
Your description matches with that.
It is not a STD but can spread with close contact.
I treat such cases with topical clotrimazole and oral Fluconazole .
I have seen excellent response with these.
He can try these medications in consultation with a doctor.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

I have also noticed that when we have sex it is painful for me when he goes all the way in... I have always had problems with candida and have had trichominiasis before but it was treated years before I met him... I'm worried something could be wrong with me as well. I don't smell badly but I'm generally always yeasty now and rarely clear in vaginal secretions... Is this a problem?
Brief Answer:
Complete treatment required
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Candida infection can be a problem.
It needs proper treatment.
Candidiasis is known to be recurrent.
I suggest to you to take a course of anti fungal medication for at least two months.
Your boyfriend also needs to be treated for the same else the infection will keep passing on in between you both.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you
