Symptoms of lightheadedness and dizziness at the age of 60 years is suggestive of some vascular pathology.
Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a common problem which affects elderly in which there is dizziness and fainting attacks.
Reduced blood supply to brain is the cause for this problem.
Reduced blood supply can be due to narrowing of blood vessels supplying the brain due to atherosclerosis or there can be due to vaso-vagal attack.
However, you need to consult your physician for clinical examination and relevant investigations - doppler of head and neck region may be required.
