Question: I was diagnosed with dehydration on Thursday - four days ago. I am still experiencing light headedness and dizzyness plus being unsteady while walking. Should the symptoms still be evident even though I am drinking a ton of water and Gatorade?

Brief Answer:
depends on the extent of the dehydration

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would depend on the degree of dehydration that was present. It is possible that there may still be electrolyte abnormalities.

The underlying cause of the dehydration is also important because this may also be playing a role in causing the symptoms as well.
A number of different illnesses can cause dizziness, unsteadiness.

You may need to be reassessed by your doctor, in addition to bloods to look at electrolyte levels and rule out infection, you would also need assessment of your blood pressure (standing and sitting) and blood sugar levels as well.

A review of any meds that you may be taking that are contributing to your symptoms would also be important

I hope this helps , feel free to ask any other questions
