Up 2 hours and then up for about 10 minutes every couple of hours ;until yesterday noon. Fekd fine until last night. Do I need an emergency room?

Brief Answer:
What drugs are you on? Do you take insulin? No ER right away!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms and rising blood sugars that you have reported. I will like to know what the other values have been as well. A single value of 257 is not enough reason to justify an ER visit at this time.

Please, report what medications you are on at this time and whether there have been any changes in your diet or level of exercise. I will use these for now to see what adjustments need to be done to achieve lower blood sugar values in the normal range.

In all, I will like to have some other values and medications before settling on whether you should go to the ER or not. For now, there is no clear reason for that. Drinking much water at this time would also be very helpful. In between, how often do you use the bathroom and how much urine do you produce?

I hope this addresses your query fully. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

I am on Januvia, Farxiga, venlaxifine, bystolic, lisinoprol, HCTZ, atorvastatin. I am also experiencing mild to moderate pain in my lower left abdomen. My sugar levels tend to run in the 140 to 170 ranges although I hate to admit I do not monitor them daily. I was out of town this last weekend and ate foods I know I shouldn't. Just wasn't paying attention. Right now I am having chills.

I have been urinating frequently and having several bowel movements (3-4) a day since Monday.

Brief Answer:
With chills, please visit the hospital ER!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this follow up information.

With chills, I will suggest that you go to the hospital. Chills often suggest an infection which may be part of the reason why the blood sugars cannot be well controlled as before.

In all, I will recommend you go to the ER and keep me updated about the progress.

I wish you well and hope to hear from you.
