What Causes Lip Swelling After Taking Duloxetine?

default
Posted on Mon, 14 Apr 2014
Question: I recently changed from brand name Cymbalta to the generic Duloxetine. My lips have been swelling and I can't think of any other change in diet or medications. I have been off Duloxetine one day and see no difference so far. Have you heard of this happening to others?

Brief Answer: antihistamine. rechallenge Detailed Answer: Hi, thanks for using HCM. I went through the query and understood your concern. Swelling of lips with change in medications suggest allergic reaction. For now you can have antihistamine like loratidine or cetrizine to relieve swelling and can retry the drug again under supervision. If any allergic reaction occurs then that confirms the allergy and you need to discontinue the new one. If no allergic reaction then the cause may be other allergen and hence you can continue the same. Hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask if any further queries and I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health. Regards
