Question: Hi, I am losing my balance only when I turn my head to the left and no nausea is involved. I also feel a slight dizziness when lying down and turning my head to the left. I am okay to completely lay on my left side.
Brief Answer:
Symptoms are suggestive of BPPV.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms. They are suggestive of BPPV- benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
In this condition, there is mild dysfunction in the ear (in semicircular canals). Some crystals are formed in the fluid. On turning the head, these crystals move, causing the dizziness.
This is not a serious condition and it improves on own in a few days to few weeks.
Betahistine tablets would help reduce the symptom severity.
Vestibular adaptation exercises would also be helpful in improving the condition.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
