What Causes Loss Of Appetite And Gnawing Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

Question: 25 y/o female non-smoker with no known medical issues. I got constipated on a road trip, didn't go for 4 days. When I got home 2 days ago I took stool softener (Colace) and 2 tbsp Milk of Magnesia, which took care of the constipation.
Since then, I've felt mildly nauseous and have less of an appetite, plus I seem to be producing a lot of excess saliva all day. I also have moderate, gnawing pain in my upper abdomen that comes and goes, but seems to feel better after I eat or pass stool/gas. Last night this pain woke me up in the middle of the night and I couldn't get back to sleep until I had passed a lot of gas.
I've never taken Milk of Magnesia before so I wonder if I'm just having (prolonged) side effects, but I'm also worried it's something more.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Gnawing pain in the upper abdomen which wakes you up from sleep, which gets relieved with eating and causing nausea, excessive salivation all indicate acid peptic disease.
An upper GI endoscopy may be done to look for peptic ulcer.
Till then you can take Prilosec for relief.
You can take Zofran for relief from nausea.
I hope that answers your query.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
