What Causes Loss Of Sensation In The Face, Arms And Hands?

Question: 21 yr old male general health good, weight within normal range. Occasionally I have loss of pain sensation in face, arm, hands. Numbness and tingling, feels like it is skin deep, I can feel pressure. Symptoms come and go sometimes 6months between episodes, somethings several a week. Can last several hours.

Occasional episodes, variable duration, number of symptoms, pattern of symptoms and your age clearly indicates that there is no serious neurological problem and it should be ignored. Infact I am of the same opinion as your primary care physician.

In case it bothers you more you can seek counselling from a psychologist. I do not think medications should be prescribed for the simple illness.
