Brief Answer:
Usually the vision improvement takes 2-4weeks following siliconeoil removal

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you have undergone silicone oil removal surgery 5 days back and following it you are having decreased in vision.

Usually the vision improves following silicone oil removal and this will normally take 2-4 weeks.
The causes in the immediate post operative period for decrease in vision are inflammation, presence of air bubble, removal of lens during surgery, corneal edema....

Hence no need to be worried as it is only 5 days and you need to continue the treatment as advised by your doctor.
Please provide me the details of the drugs you are using and any other details so that I can analyze and help you further in the treatment.

Hence I advice you not to worry and continue the treatment as advised by your doctor.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Thank you
With regards

if you remember I gave my case history 2 months back and I am also a diabetic.

I am currently using pres forte, vigamox, nevnac, atropine along with refresh gel.

if you remember earlier query there was some silicon oil that got evaporated that you said nothing to worry.

after the oil removal I can only identify brightness and darkness and could make out nothing. worried a lot. can see the blood clot above my cornea and the bubble tides.

but can't see anything outside.

pls advise. my age is 32 years.

Brief Answer:
The poor vision can be because of inflammation or corneal edema.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

I reviewed your previous questions also.
The treatment you are using in the form of pred forte, vigamox, nevnac, atropine and refresh gel is in right direction.

As I mentioned the causes for your poor vision can be because of inflammation caused by surgery, presence of air bubbles following surgery, corneal edema....
All these conditions will decrease with the treatment you are using, but these may take 2-4 weeks as I mentioned.

If the vision does not improve then other conditions like removal of lens during surgery, damage to macula of the retina.... need to be evaluated and treated.

Hence I advice you to continue treatment as advised by your doctor and I will hope that you are probably having the causes like inflammation induced by surgery.... which will decrease with treatment.

Hope this answers your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
