Brief Answer:
looks like gastroenteritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

You are mostly having gastroenteritis, better known as food poisoning.

The stomach pain is mostly due to gastritis.

As the loose motions have stopped so you may not take medication for it. But you can take a ppi tablet like omeprazole or pantaprazole for the stomach pain.

Also, avoid tea, coffee, soda drinks and spicy foods for a week, as they will increase the gastritis. Eat fresh curds and bananas. And take care of what and where you eat to prevent any recurrence.

Hope i have been helpful.

Hi doctor,
Thank you for your prompt response.

After my last mail to you, I had 3 motions. One was ok and the 2 other still loose.

Slight pains persist on and off.

Pls advise medication.

Brief Answer:
probiotics and antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Generally acute gastroenteritis is a self resolving condition which heals in couple of days. You should start
- plenty of fluids with electrolytes. I use rebalanz XXXXXXX to prepare electrolyte solution
- probiotics such as ecobion three times a day.

Along with it, I treat my patients with antibiotics such as metronidazole or ornidazole preferably in combination with ofloxacin or norfloxacin (example in XXXXXXX they are in the name of 'Tablet O2') if loose stools persist for more than 2 days. You may also need antispasmodic drugs if the cramps are severe and troubling you.

Hope this helps.
Get well soon.

Hi doctor,
Stomach pains have almost gone and the frequency of stools has reduced but the stools are still very loose.

I think I will start the O2 tablets along with neutralin B and keep you updated.

Thank you and good day
