What Causes Low Blood Pressure After Taking Atenolol?

I am trying to get a better grip of my PVCs. I am on Atenolol 25mg once daily. My bp tends to be low with the Atenolol. As I mentioned to a cardiologist at Healthmagic, who was very helpful, I have been under a lot of stress working many hours and taking care of my mom. PVCs seem to interrupt many situations whereas I cannot avoid to think about them because they are annoying by fast and skipping beats that feel they are jumping out of my chest and neck and doing flip flops. Thinking about them makes them even worse. I am trying to work with them but they can interrupt things. When I am busy doing things walking and exercising I don't feel them, but when I relax they come on full force especially if my adrenaline is high. How can I help myself to find ways to deal with these. Can these pvcs interfere with dental procedures like deep cleaning or root canal? Your input is much appreciated.
Your PVCs are likely to be benign
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I am Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD.
I have gone through your query .Thanks for using HCM.
first of all I would like to know what investigations were done to evaluate your PVCs. I presume that all your basic investigation like holter, echo etc.have been done and are normal. Having confirmed this I can tell you that these PVCs are benign. It has become tendency of your heart!
As per your history you have mentioned that they don't bother you when you are working and exercising. They come up when you are free and with high adrenaline.
So it is clear that you have anxiety which precipitates your symptoms and you should take anxiolytics. I suggest you to take Mouth dissolving Tab of Clonazepam 0.5 mg when you are having symptoms. You will feel better immediately. If needed you may take bedtime anxiolytic for few days. Your local doctor will know about this drug. Further you should continue atenolol 25 mg. They will not interfere with dental procedure.
Yoga and meditation too will help you.
I would like to review your holter and echo reports to give you perfect guidance
My best wishes
Dr.Rajesh Teli,MD
