What Causes Low Body Temperature Along With Cough And Sore Throat?

Question: My 87 year old mother has a temperature of 96.2 degrees and deep cough and is very tired. She has had the cough for six days. Also in the last week she had a very severe sore throat and was given antibiotics and the sore throat went away. She has an appointment with an ENT tomorrow. Should I do anything about the low temperature before then? She is currently taking no other medicines. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
There is nothing you can or should do
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
a low temperature may be normal at the recovery phase of infectious diseases but it can also be caused by a very severe infection (severe sepsis). Judging from her age and your description I gather that she's in the recovery phase.
The recovery phase starts when the fever is declining.
Feeling tired for a few days more is also normal particularly for a person as old as her.
I hope I've helped!
