Brief Answer: There is no cause for concern Detailed Answer: Namasthe Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Dear Mr XXXXXXX Being parent myself, I understand your concern and apprehensions. Low grade fever in children is quite common and majority of the time its due to Upper Respiratory tract infection. The babies appear less active during fever, there is no cause for concern if these criteria are fullfilled 1. Respiration is normal 2. Passing stools normally: No recent change in consistency and frequency 3. Urine output adequate and no excessive crying while passing Urine 4. Sleeps well after feeds 5. No Vomiting Symptomatic treatment with Paracetamol drops is all that is required, he should settle down in couple of days. Maintain his nutrition and hydration. Hot tomato/chicken soup, Tulsi leaf decoction will be helpful. Do get back to me if you have any other query. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy life. Thank you sir for replying to my query. He passes stools at least 4 to 5 times a day but recently the stool is sticky and bit greenish. Also due to less water intake the urine quantity has reduced

Thank you sir for your advice. The haemogram and stool reports are normal. Howver there are minor pus cells in urine report (2-4). My pediatrician is comfortable with the reports. He has advised to give pediatric crocin 1 ml every 8 hours for 3 days. I hope this would bring normalcy to my baby

Brief Answer: No cause for concern regarding urine report Detailed Answer: Namasthe Dear Mr XXXXXXX .It's very difficult to collect clean sample in children. The urine comes in contact with skin and causes appearance of pus cells and epithelial cells in urine. Pus cells above 5 in presence of symptoms is significant. There is definitely no cause for concern regarding the report. I hope baby is doing fine. Take care Best Regards Dr Deepak

Brief Answer: Fever does cause alteration in bowel habits Detailed Answer: Namasthe Dear Mr XXXXXXX Babies do have alteration in bowel habits when they have fever. ( Even adults to have such experience). As his blood reports are normal and the tempers reducing after Paracetamol, it does not call for any alarm. I hope he must be sleeping well now after passing stools. Fever is not a disease but it's manifestation of a disease process going on. Most commonest cause of Fever in children is respiratory tract infection followed by non specific viral infection. If there is no rash associated with fever, no urinary complaints and breathing comfortable and no vomiting then things are fine. Wishing your baby a speedy recovery. Do write to me if you need any further assistance. . Take care Deepak
