What Causes Low Grade Fever And Stomach Cramps During Heavy Periods?

Haven't had period in awhile. Have PCOS, off the pill for over a year...last period ended 3 weeks ago, lasted 2 weeks, mild cramps, normal flow
Need prescription drugs.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
In PCOS with a history of irregular periods it is coon to have heavy periods. The mild low grade fever can be related to hormonal changes associated with periods or a viral infection.
The uterine cramps are also usually associated with heavy periods and passage of clots.
This can be taken care of with haemostatic agents like tranexaemic acid in combination with pain killers like mefenamic acid.
You need to consult your gynecologist who can do the necessary tests like ultrasound scan and initiate the therapy. Hormonal therapy with oral contraceptives is needed to decrease irregularity and blood flow.
Meanwhile start taking iron rich food and supplements to combat excessive blood loss from your body. You can get iron supplements with primary doctor prescription.
