Brief Answer:
can.be side effects of drug
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There can be two reasons of her low level of acitivity and slowness-
1. due to sedative efect of lorazepam. I you feel this is the reason, then the doctor can reduce the dosage of lorazepm. Similarly, this can be due to seative effect of resperidone. Here one has to try to give the drug in early evening hours (5-6pm) rather than in daytime or at night. By this the sedative effect weans off by.morning and patient is more alert.
OR
2.this can ee due to sie effects of resperidone. The side effect include- increase salivation, prominent eyes, decreased eye blinking, tremors in hands, slow body movements. If this is the case- then she needs a dosage reduction.of resperidone.
So, one.has to look into the above points of detail and then further managemnt is planned.
The continuation of drugs depend on the diagnosis and some other factors; but one can take it to be minimum for 6-9 months from the time she is comletely better. The dosage can however be reduced once she improves.
Please feel free to ask more questions for clarification. I will try my best to help her. Please donot loose hope, your child is improving and will definitely get well.
Best wishes.
