
What Causes Low Prolactin Levels In A PCOS Patient?

Question: Yes I was recently tested with low prolactin 2.5 and I had check again was 2.8 I have no periods maybe once a year and I take thyroid meds 88 mg and high blood medicine 20mg and sometimes take pain medicine for my back I hurt. And I take .5 mg of Xanax and Claritin for allergies. I weigh 266 and doctor doesn't think im the typical pcos patient either What do you think I have and is wrong with me?

Noted your concern. I agree 100% that you need an endocrinology evaluation. It is possible that your pituitary gland is not working properly ( in view of low prolactin levels). In addition to physical examination, you may need few tests like Estradiol, FSH, LH, Cortisol etc. Have you had any of these tests done?
