Brief Answer:
Clonidine
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I read carefully your query.
One of the drugs that your wife is been taking to treat high blood pressure ,Clonidin can cause low heart rate.
This drug acts by blocking some receptors in the body (called α2 receptors). It causes the heart to beat slowly and the blood vessels to dilate. This combination of effects is used to lower blood pressure in people with Hypertension.
If having so slow pulse is causing any symptom to your wife (like chest discomfort ,fatigue, lightheadedness, dizziness then she should talk with her treating doctor.
Hope it helps.

Thank You. What Medication would be used to replace the clonidine which would not cause her the problem and would help with her blood pressure?
Perhaps I should reword my question. Can I replace the clonidine with Amlodipine Bensylate or Propranolol 20Mg or perhaps you have a better choice.

Hello again.
I apologize for the delay in answering your question. There are a large number of antihypertensive drugs that can be used to manage high blood pressure.
If your wife is having slow heart rate and this is causing a discomfort to her ,her treating doctor can do a modification to her medication.Lowering the dose of Clonidine or replacing it with another medication (including Amplodipine).
Propanolol is a b-blocker drug and acts by decreasing heart rate,so I wouldn't recommend it in this case.
You need to discuss this with her treating doctor because a lot of factors should be taken in consideration before changing her medication. The interaction with other medications that she is been taking should be taken in consideration before starting a new drug.
A detailed information regarding her medical condition and all the medications she takes is necessary. Her treating doctor is the most appropriate person to decide what modification can be done.
