What Causes Lower Abdominal Spasms?

Need to know size of uterus and fibroid
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query and attached reports, my opinion is as follows:
1. Dragging sensation could be due to hernia or fibroid.
2. The ligaments supporting the uterus, become weak as age progresses and with the additional fibroid could be causing the dragging sensation.
3. As the hernia is containing only fat, at present, it may not be the cause.
4. Do get the transvaginal ultrasound to look at the size of the fibroid, whether the uterus is enlarged with adenomyosis or more fibroid are present. If its enlarged, more than normal (and not atrophied), surgery to remove it maybe necessary.
5. Endoscopy wont be helpful, as the CAT scan has not revealed any lesions.
Do get the ultrasound done.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

IBS irritable bowel started, so and a little Imodium (lactose sensitive too) calmed it down, so besides hernia and fibroid, I believe stress is not ruled out either. But thank you so much. I am taking which wasn't my idea and metabolic test too, because I told them didn't want to do endoscopy now. Actually the contrast in the catscan made me real sick. so want to rest my system. is the metablolic test a wa y to see why your metabolism is slow by the way.
For slow metabolism - Evaluation for hypothyroidism maybe necessary
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
You are welcome.
1. Stress is more of a emotional state and difficult to evaluate with any physical parameters. Metabolic test, to see if low, may not be helpful.
2. If necessary, get a thyroid hormone profile done. If hypothyroidism, treatment will be necessary. Slow metabolism will be mostly due to hypothyroidism commonly. Hope you have no anemia.
3. Try to relax and exercise more (walking - morning half an hour and evening half an hour). Stretching will also be necessary. Improve nutrition to increase calcium and vitamin levels. Take more soluble fiber diet from fruits and vegetables. Have good hydration.
4. Exercises and meditation reduces stress. Based on ultrasound report, further opinion possible.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
