What Causes Lower Back Pain And Stomach Ache During Ovulation Time?

For the last 4 months my cycle has been back to normal again but I experience lower back pain and stomach ache at ovulation time. Last night I noticed blood streaked discharge and today I have the same lower back pain....it feel as though I am due a period. I am day 14 of my cycle.
I had a cervical smear last year that was normal (although I always immediately bleed after the test (last 2 tests this has happened)
In addition to this, I sometimes experience aching legs (no swelling) at ovulation and also a few days before my period.
Basically, does everything sound normal?
Thanks, XXXXXXX
USG, GYNEC check up,
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Dear XXXXXXX
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic.
I have gone through your query.
I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1)First of all do not panic.
2)Let's address your problems one bye one.
As your PAP smear report is normal, you need not worry. The bleeding after taking smear can be due to rubbing action of the spatula.
3)Low back pain and low abdomen pain at the time of ovulation days is as such normal. If it is unbearable then it can be managed by taking simple analgesic like Tab PARACETAMOL 500 mg as needed. It can be availed on prescription of your doctor.
4)Leg pain and low back pain can be due to premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and can be managed as follows-
_ Analgesic (pain killer) as needed
- Tablet of long acting form of vitamin B 6, vitamin E and Capsule of Evening primrose one each daily at night for 3 months.
_ Indulge in a healthy diet and regular exercise.
5) If any kid of abnormal bleeding occurs then USG along with gynec check up -per speculum and per vaginal examination will be helpful. This will help to rule out causes of bleeding in between menses like- cervical erosion or cervical polyp.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
Wish you good health.
With regards
Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar

So, just for me to confirm.....there is no need for concern. However, the one area of potential issue is the blood streaked discharge? Is that correct?
No need to worry. Usg and Gynaec check up will help
