What Causes Lower Jaw Pain After A Tooth Filling Procedure?
Question: I had my tooth (last one on bottom left) filled 2 days ago. It was a normal ceramic filling. No root canal was done.
Before filling, I had occasional pain while biting hard things. I did not feel any pain during the procedure. But, now I have constant pain in lower jaw and the tooth has become extremely sensitive to cold items.
I am traveling and don't have access to the doctor who did the filling. What should I do? Should I do root canal? Or will this pain go away in a couple of days?

Brief Answer:
deep caries
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for writing in.
In case of deep caries sensitivity may be present for some days but it will go away.
But if the caries has infected the inner part that is pulp (nerves) then you have to go for Root canal treatment.
For now you can take a painkiller if pain is present.
Afterwards you can upload the picture of x ray before and after the filling. Then I can tell you whether you should go for root canal treatment or not.
Hope this answer helps. Take care
