Brief Answer:
Details history please.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate:Female/72 - pain on left lower side - taking normal medicines prescribed by the Physician ....

The commonest causes of pain on the left lower side in a female patient of 72 are:
- Colitis
- Left ureteric stone
- Prolapse uterus
- diverticulitis and so on.

I would advise you the following:
- Get a clinical evaluation and examination done by your Physician and ask for the relevant tests which may be a stool, urine and blood test.
- Ultrasonography of the whole abdomen
- Medicines as per the symptoms and signs and the tests
- If no relief then obvious reference for the Geenral Surgeon or Gynecologist as per your Doctor's advise for further clinical evaluation and tests to get a proper diagnosis and curative treatment.

Few more details would have helped me to assist you better:
- Since when is the pain?
- Associated symptoms of nausea, vomiting, constipation or altered bowel habits.
- History related to urinary system, prolapse and anything else that you would like to share.
- Stool, consistency, color, smell, mucus or anything that is altered.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
