Brief Answer:
It is normal for your clitoris to swell from arousal

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

Your clitoris is made of erectile tissue similar to tissue in the male penis, so it is normal for it to swell when you are aroused. It shouldn't stay swollen or itch afterwards, those symptoms can indicate skin irritation or infection.

Regarding pelvic pain, all women occasionally have pelvic pain, especially around the time of ovulation (middle of cycle) or in the few days before your period starts.

If you are sexually active and have never had a GYN checkup before, I suggest you schedule an evaluation to make sure you are healthy and that your symptoms are normal.

I hope I was able to answer your question today and that this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything else.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
