Brief Answer:
Fix an appointment with Gynecologist

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi wani. I appreciate your concerns.
Did you have similar episodes before.
It would have been nice if you had provided some more details, like what aggravates the pain, what relieves the pain, any urinary complaints, presence of vomiting or diarrhea, blood in stools etc.

This pain can be due to several reasons:

1. Indigestion- you will also have nausea, diarrhea etc.
2. Pulled muscle due to lifting heavy objects or strenuous exercise.
3. Urinary tract infection- also presents with burning /pain during urination, increased frequency of urination etc.
4. Interstitial cystitis- will also have sudden urge to pee and increased frequency of urination.
5. Pelvic adhesions in case you have had abdominal surgeries or pelvic infection before.
6. Fibroid uterus or ovarian cyst
7. Cancer Ovary and uterus. It is rare but can occur.
8. Surgical causes like appendix and intestine problem

Please fix an appointment with Gynecologist to assess for any gynec problem. You need to have ultrasound of uterus and ovaries. If gynec cause is ruled out and if the pain is persistent then you need to consult surgeon.

I hope this is helpful.
If you have any further concerns I will be happy to answer.
Regards,
Dr Rama

Thank you Dr. Wani,
I do have an appointment with a gyn, but not until 8/17. I should have mentioned that I have a prolapsed uterus, so I guess this has something to do with it. If the pain becomes worse before then, I will seek medical attention right away.

Brief Answer:
A prolapsed uterus causes low back ache rather than lower abdominal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

A prolapsed uterus causes low back ache rather than lower abdominal pain. Insert the uterus back into its position using tampon in the vagina. This should relieve the pain if it is due to prolapse.

18th August is quite late. It is better to see the doctor at the earliest if the pain persists.

Wishing you good health,
Regards,
Dr Rama
