What Causes Lowering Of Testosterone Levels?

Male, 30 years . Married 1 and half year ago ,still not able to conceive my wife. Did Semen Analysis, had 78 Million/ml sperm count, but viscosity is abnormal and motility is 8% only. Got scared, sad and more stressed for three months after that went to saw a Urologist. He ordered hormone tests , results are prolactin - 20 (max range of 15 ), FSH and LH is 4.5 , testosterone came as low of 210 . More scared now. Is my stress after the semen analysis would have caused low testosterone? I am kind of nervous person about everything. Please help.
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I am sorry to hear about the abnormal results, but to answer your question during stressful situations or during high levels of stress the body starts producing more of a hormone called cortisol to battle stress and deal with the changes in the body.
Unfortunately, high levels of cortisol are found to be associated with low levels of testosterone and so the answer to your question would be: Yes sir, the stress could have easily caused a lowering in your testosterone levels.
But these high levels of cortisol can only cause a slight lowering of testosterone levels, and so I do think that there are other factors also involved. But the answer to your question is yes sir, stress does cause a lowering in testosterone levels. Please speak to your doctor to help teach you relaxation techniques.
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.
Best wishes.
