What Causes Menstrual Irregularities Postpartum?

Question: Hi Doc,
My wife is on period since last one nd half months after delivery. Is it normal to have such a long period? Still she is on period. What is the normal duration of period after delivery??

Common happening but still ultrasound advised

Detailed Answer:
Hello man, thanks for trusting health care magic. Yes many a times patients bleed after delivery for a variable period of 4-6 weeks.
Usually nothing to worry except if there is pain and excessive bleeding.
So in case you are worried a lot it is better to get an ultrasound done and a routine check up from gynaecologist along.
