What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth?
Question: Hello. I have been experiencing a strange, sour or possibly metallic taste in my mouth since about 10 AM this morning. The same taste from the tea I was drinking last night; black tea that normally doesn't taste that way. The steeper I use is metal, so I thought perhaps it might be some type of metal poisoning but I did not want to jump to any conclusions.
I am 25 years old; 130 pounds. Male.
I have been to the hospital previously for indigestion and my doctor sometimes suggests I should watch my diet, as it frequently consists of spicy foods, caffeine, and very few greens. However, this is the first time this has happened and I am not sure what the problem is.
Thank you so much for your help.

Brief Answer:
Diagnostic is necessary to find the reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Such symptom can appear due to gallstones, acid reflux disease, peptic ulcer, fungal infection of the mouth or low potassium level.
Gallstones are more possible if you have also upper abdominal pain or squeezing especially after meals.
Acid reflux disease gives also chest burning.
Fungal infection appears as a whitish tongue.
Low potassium level gives also limbs tingling or cramps.
I suggest you to have some test. Blood work, abdominal ultrasound should be done at first. Gastroscopy should be considered.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
