What Causes Microscopic Hematuria?

Question: Hi. I have microscopic blood in my urine. I just finished taking antibiotics for a UTI 3 days ago. I've had the blood on and off for about a year now. What could be causing this?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been detected to have microscopic hematuria and have taken antibiotics for 3 days.

Repeated episodes of microscopic Hematuria is mostly due to Chronic Cystitis .

1) Do you have burning urination>
2) Do you have frequency for urination ?
3) Do you have pain in lower abdomen?
4) Have you done urine culture ? if so post me the report ?

Presence of 3-4 RBCs has no significance .

In absence of any urinary symptoms presence of few RBCs detected on microscopic examination of urine has no significance at all
.
This could be due to mild inflammation of bladder ,

Take urinary antiseptic Microbid as a prophylaxis for 3 weeks .
Ensure to drink more water .
