What Causes Mild But Constant Heart Palpitations?
Question: I am having mild constant heart palpations( Had EKG done nothing bad was found), A burning pain in my lower left abdomen, every time I pass gas large amounts of mucus, mild back pain, pain on my sides, mild nausea on rare occasions, slight weight lose about 5 pounds, can drink caffeine at all or symptoms become worse, stomach pain, and mild heartburn that appears every time at night before bed.
I been the ER twice once for severe heartburn ( taking Prilosec seems to reduce it) and other time for lower abdomen pain and had CBC and Differential, CT ABD and Pelvis W Contrast, Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, and Lipase Blood tests done and nothing bad.

Brief Answer:
May be related to stress.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I understand your concern.
If you are an anxious person, it would explain many of your symptoms.
Palpitation is related to surge in the stress hormones.
Your heart burn and upper abdominal pain is related to an inflammation in your upper gastrointestinal tract. An upper GI endoscopy would help in the diagnosis.
Have you had any test for H.Pylori, the bacteria causing peptic ulceration?
The pain in the lower abdomen with passing of mucus is probably due to mucus colitis, a type of irritable bowel syndrome. If your weight loss is persisting, I think you should have a colonoscopy.

I am really only an anxious person when it comes to pain so the heart palpations might be related to that.
I have not had an Upper GI Endoscopy or a test for H.Pylori. Should I make an appointment with the doctor to have these done. I am mainly worried because the symptoms will not go away after 12 days.

Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, I think you should get an appointment for endoscopy.
As I practice outside US, I am not sure whether you can walk into a laboratory and get a H.Pylori test done. If possible, the test I would recommend is C13 Urea Breath Test. You have to be off Proton pump inhibitor like Prilosec for 2 weeks. This test should be done in a fasting state and you should not have had any food or drink including water for a minimum of 6 hours prior to the test.
Best wishes

Well it turns out I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The mucus colitis part was dead on. Heart Palpations, Heat Flashes, and constant stomach pain all explains it as well.
Was also infected with H.Pylori which was the cause of the Heart Burn currently taking antibiotics with acid reducers to remove it.

Brief Answer:
Better insight, faster cure.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
Glad to know that we are getting near to understanding and resolving the problems.
The usual treatment advised for H.Pylori is the triple regime consisting of a proton pump inhibitor ( PPI) and two antibiotics. If you have any problem tolerating them, let me know.
