What Causes Mild Lower Abdominal Pain And Back Pain During Pregnancy While On Miprogen?
Question: Hi,
I am 9 weeks pregnant, last week has a doppler scan and it showed a normal heartbeat. Since last 3 weeks my doctor has put me on Hucog 5000 injections and miprogen 200... i just wanted to make sure this is a right for baby. Also since a couple of days i have mild lower abdomen and lower back pain, i am so freaked, is everything allright with baby?

Brief Answer:
Both are safe
Detailed Answer:
Hello Mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Both hucog and miprogen are safe and are routinely prescribed especially to ones with backache or abdominal pain so nothing to worry.
Take as much rest as possible and avoid intercourse.
All the best.

Thankyou for your prompt answer with reassurance.
Really appreciate.
As you have mentioned about avoiding intercourse my query is several articles on internet encourage sex during preganancy and say thers no harm, but in XXXXXXX mostly doctors advise against it... is there a specific reason for that?
Moreover another reason for my worry is that i work an hr away from home, i travel by auto and then train and again auto daily... could this harm my baby in any way?
Really appreciate.

Brief Answer:
Rest and absteinence recommended
Detailed Answer:
Yes dear, definitely you should avoid travelling by auto at all times and can take a cab or train till 14 weeks and after that since placenta starts functioning there is no such problem.
As far as intercourse is concerned it is not a problem in normal pregnancy in XXXXXXX as well as foreign standards but even international guidelines recommend absteinence in patients with pain and symptoms related to that.
So rest and absteinence is strongly recommended in your case.

Thanks Doctor XXXXXXX for a detailed answer.
My other query is that last night i had a severe upper abdomen pain. It troubled me throughout the night and i also puked 2- 3 times which was mostly only watery fluid like pitta... later at 5 am i drank some.cold milk after half an ht of which i again puked out all the milk and some yellowish liquid which i suppose was acidic since after that i started feeling little better. Slight upper abdomen pain is still there but its much lesser than last night.
Again at times i get some mild cramps in lower abdomen, and also in vaginal area, the back ache is better today but due to this upper abdomen pain i feel quite drained.
What could be the reason for this pain. It wont harm the baby right? I have scheduled an appt with my gynaec for tomorrow morning but till then if u can tell me what usually causes such a pain and what precautions should i take i d be grateful.

Brief Answer:
Acidity of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
This pain is just simple pregnancy related gastritis and acidity which will respond to simple antacids like Digene syrup and pantoprazole tablet.
Cold milk is a natural antacid so you can very well take that too but usually liquids are not easily tolerated especially in morning so taking medicine is a better option.
You visit your doctor tomorrow as scheduled and in case needed can discuss the management any time with me on this forum.
Take care.
