Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

Firstly, I would like to know if the cause of the two missed abortions has been understood and the time lapse between the two abortions. If diabetes left untreated was the cause, it can be overcome with proper treatment and dietary changes.

Your HbA1c values are slightly above normal and close monitoring is needed in addition to diet modifications and exercise. If medication is needed, Metformin is ideal as it is safe even during pregnancy.

You have been prescribed follicle stimulating hormone and estrogen. This should be followed by hCG and progesterone during the latter half to induce ovulation and maintain the fertilized embryo, respectively. Estrogen should not be given when pregnancy is a possibility. Perhaps your doctor wants to proceed in a step-wise manner and please contact your consultant for further information.

If regular ovulation is established, you do not need external support to induce ovulation. If tubes are patent and there are no hormone deficiencies, your chances of getting pregnant are quite high. You will need supplements and proper antenatal care to maintain the pregnancy well.

Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
