What Causes Missed Period After Having Postinor-2?
Question: Av missed my periiod for almost 2weeks and I took postinor2 around ending of january but I later had my period 1wk in febuary and after dat I had my other period ending of febuary to 1wk in march and after dat av I hrd sex but their was no sperm release very sure of that and am suppose to see my period at the end of march to first week of april nd have not seen it till now and am nt feeling any pregnancy symthops all am having is some release dat do comes out whenever I want to see my period and av not seen any now could it be because of the postinor I used

Hi XXXXXX, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Prostinor-2 is levonorgestrel which is used as an emergency contraceptive. It has side effects like irregular periods for the next few menstrual cycles.
Unprotected intercourse may lead to pregnancy, even sometimes after withdrawal of penis before ejaculation, as sometimes while withdrawing the semen may spill in or around vagina.
Pregnancy is associated with increased vaginal discharge, which you may be experiencing.
If your periods are delayed, I would suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test.
If positive, then further management should be done accordingly.
However, irregular periods can also be due to hormonal disorders like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactnemia or polycystic ovarian disease, and due to stress.
In case of negative result, I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get yourself properly examined, investigated (including hormonal profile) and treated accordingly.
