Brief Answer:
Can be due to hormonal changes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
You can be assured that pregnancy isn't a factor here.
You have done pregnancy test and it is negative.
The other reasons of delayed periods may be hormonal imbalance, emotional upset, anxiety, stress, or other medical conditions that affect the ovaries, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland. Hypothyroidism, post pill amennorhea , polycystic ovarian syndrome or less frequently a pituitary tumor causing high prolactin levels or a hypothalamic disease are other causes that may be the cause here as pregnancy is ruled out.
This needs proper hormonal tablets to get a withdrawal bleeding after few investigations and examination by a gynecologist.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

thanks doctor for your prompt response.
How can I know what is the real problem behind my delayed periods? I had viral fever last week which resulted in me taking tablets for fever like DOLO 650, AZEE (Azithromycin tablets). Also I had some tonsils issue which needed me to take tablets like Allegra 180 and DOLO 650.

But even before that I had missed a cycle already. I did have a appendicitis surgery and also surgery to remove few cysts in my ovary. Can you suggest some steps for me to be sure that I am not undergoing any serious issues?

can you suggest me the symptoms to know what is the issue or any precautions which I need to take for avoiding the problem?

thanks

Brief Answer:
Proper investigations are needed to find cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
To rule out that there is no serious problem you need to have an ultrasound scan and few blood tests. This time the delay can be due to illness but if it is recurrent then detailed investigations are needed. Cause cannot be detected based only on the symptoms.
You need to avoid stress, anxiety, follow a set daily routine and avoid gaining excessive weight to avoid this problem.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.
